Waterfall Cards
You will need:
One, 5 by 7 in blank card
One piece thin card, 3in by 10in (main mechanism) (160gsm or similar)
4 pieces coloured card, 3in square (small matts)
3 images/photos 2.75 in square
One sentiment to fit on 2.75 in square
1 piece card, .5in by a fraction over 5in (attachment mechanism) (160gsm)
1 piece of coloured card approx. 3.75 in by 5.75 in, or sized to matt the waterfall
1 piece patterned paper approx. 4.75 by 6.75in
Take the piece of 3 by 10in card and score it at 3 in, 3.5 in, 4 in and 4.5 in
Fold all score lines (mountain fold).
Take three of the matt layers, (coloured card) and attach images to them. Attach your
sentiment to the fourth matt layer. (Or four images and no sentiment).
Attach the matted sentiment to the mechanism
as shown.
Then add the images, sticking the top of each only to
the part of the mechanism between two folds.
the bottom is the bit you pull to operate the mechanism.
Thread the attachment mechanism between the two layers of the main mechanism. Add double-sided tape to the 3in section of the attachment mechanism and stick it to the back of the upper (image)layer of the main mechanism, in the lower half.
Fold the ends of the attachment mechanism behind the lower layer. Put double-sided sticky tape on the back of these folded ends only. Attach the mechanism to the large matt using this tape only. The rest of the mechanism should be free to move.
Add patterned paper and/or a matt layer to the card blank if desired, then stick the large matt layer to the patterned paper, and your card is complete.
